A Sad Site

Travelled to London, ON today for a Professional Development Day with the THQ Pastoral Care Officers. Most of our division was there, so again good to see friends and share a few laughs.

However, the trip there left us with an unpleasant site. There was construction on the road which of course slowed us down. But then as we were down to a crawl 3 police vehicles passed us on the shoulder of the road. We were to discover that an accident had happened a short distance ahead of us. A mini-van had crashed into the back of a Tractor Trailer. As we passed I noticed that the driver and passenger were still in the mini-van, the ambulance had not yet arrived. What can you do? For the whole day they were on my mind. I do not know what their condition was, but all I could do was say a prayer for them. God Bless them and their Family.

What a day holds we do not know, but God does.

Familiar Faces

It is amazing how you move away and go back to a place where you have been before. You wonder, "will people still remember me?" Well, I am glad to say "YES". Roland & I went to the Hamilton/Burlington/Niagara Region Annual Luncheon today. We left Hamilton in 1999. It seems like a long time but today I met a number of people, they remembered me and I remembered them. It was good to renew those friendships again.
Also in front of the building where the luncheon was being held they had 2 Emergency Disaster vehicles. Roland & I both felt a bit of pride as one of them was one that we had worked together with a committee to obtain. Granted Roland had more to do with it than me, but needless to say we both did our part. (Don't worry I am not bursting my buttons here, just reminiscing.)

I'M Back

It has been a while since a posted and I am sure you are wondering where I have been. Well, I am still here. As we can all say, we are busy and some things just get pushed to the bottom of the list, but I do need to discipline myself more to keep this blog up-to-date. It has been different with Roland working in Burlington and me in Cambridge, when you consider we have worked in the same appointment side by side for 29 yrs. So we both have a different day to talk about at the end of the day.

Well, this week was a bit of a whirlwind. Needless to say having Roland end up in hospital with what may have been an angina attack was a bit scary. However, as I traveled to the hospital (he was in Burlington and I was at home in Cambridge) the Lord gave me a sense of Calmness. For He was there traveling with me. I give God thanks for placing His Hand on Roland and all things worked out well.

Bradley & Charissa, Caleb & Joshua were here for Easter Sunday and Monday, Tuesday. The Boys sure are growing. They came again when Roland was in hospital. It was good to have them. Maybe someday again, we will have "Everyone" together for a special occasion Berkley, Debbie, Ruby and Brendan. Wouldn't that be good?
